Take Lessons with Kate

I teach woodwinds: saxophone, clarinet, and flute (and occasionally beginning music concepts on piano, guitar, and ukulele). Lessons are one on one, 30, or 60 minutes long. The curriculum is created collaboratively with the student, according to what they are interested in. My personal goals as a teacher are that each student acquires the skills they need to enjoy making and listening to music throughout their life. Those skills include the basics of music making (time, tone, intonation) and the ability to manipulate the instrument fluently (longtones, scales, technique, repertoire). I hope to help students reach their musical goals, whether that means playing professionally or getting a good grade in band class.
